SLOW & STEADY WINS THE RACE
Slow & steady wins the race / On a journey is about being consistent. It is a reminder to myself to not rush the process, but at the same time never forget where I am headed. I wanted to make my new tote bag a reminder of the path I am currently on when it comes to physical and mental wealth, and I made it at a time when I was more driven and motivated than ever to become better, faster, stronger, and more mindful.
sLIFE'S WHAT YOU MAKE IT
Life's what you make it is about the perfect balance. I bought a new Macbook and wanted a plastic protection on the front of it. For my past MacBook I had also made a sticker with an existential rant, so of course I wanted to follow my own tradition this time around.
English translation: Life's what you make it, so let's make it ...financially stable but not too stable because then it becomes boring. ...impulsive, but not too impulsive because then you lose control. ...exciting, but not too exciting because then it becomes unpredictable. ...fun, but not too fun because then fun becomes the new normal. ...boring, but not too boring because then you forget what fun is. ...comfortable, but not too comfortable because then you don't grow as a person. ...full of adrenaline, but not too full of adrenaline, because then you take risks. ...full of joy, but not too full of joy, because you can't only have fun ...challenging, but not too challenging because then life becomes a struggle. ...fast-paced, but not too fast-paced because then you lose your composure. ...calm, but not too calm, for idleness is the root of all evil.
I once read that you shouldn't have balance, because if you constantly change what you spend time on, you will never focus 100% on anything. The best would probably be to have periods where you focus on just one thing and then the next. Was it Jordan Peterson who wrote it? Maybe it was him... I think he made a good point.
You just have to find out the truth for yourself. And then you just have to experience it to really learn along the way. Is it strange people spend time figuring it out? It shouldn't be easy by any means, and God forbid shortcuts. Well, good luck to me, and let's make it rock.
Favourite sufferings
Favorite sufferings was just me wanting a new tote bag. I was inspired by the saying "Life is all about fixing problems. So make sure you choose the problems you enjoy solving". It made me think about my everyday routines, and what I genuinely enjoy. Working out, for example, is for me necessity to a good life. I choose the suffering, I choose to push myself, because I truly enjoy the feeling it gives me, both long term and immediately. I also believe good things come from great efforts, and that one should avoid the easy way out. Life is about getting invested, enjoying the process, choosing your favorite sufferings for the better long tem.
OLDER
These designs are from 2020. I feel for them the same way you feel when you realize how you dressed differently four years ago compared to now. I remember being inspired by profiles on instagram with colorful graphics. I like them as a part of the journey and the development of my graphic taste over the past couple of years.
